Show where incoming notices from other users appear on your screen.
When to Use It
Use it when a notice shows up in a window you did not expect and you want to know why. The command only reports the policy. It does not change anything.
Syntax
/notice_routing
How It Works
This displays the delivery policy for user-targeted notices (sent via /notice). Routing is fixed to the active window. Running
/notice_routing
shows the current policy.
A notice sent to your nickname appears in the conversation you are viewing at the moment it arrives. No new window opens for it. A notice sent to a channel appears only while that channel is the window you are viewing.
The command replies with one line in the current window that names the policy. Notices from users you ignore for notices, or for all message types, are not shown at all.
Rules & Limits
- Anyone can use it. No channel or server status is needed.
- The routing policy is fixed. There is no option to send notices to another window.
- The command takes no parameters. Anything you type after it is ignored.
