Access a popup emoji picker with 300+ Unicode emojis organized in 8 categories.
Opening the Picker
Click the smiley face button in the formatting toolbar.
Categories
Smileys & Emotion, People & Body, Animals & Nature, Food & Drink, Travel & Places, Activities, Objects, Symbols.
Search
Type in the search box to filter emojis by name or keyword (minimum 2 characters).
Inserting
Click an emoji to insert it at the cursor position in the chat input. The picker closes automatically after selection.
Closing
Click outside the picker, press Escape, or click the close button.
Step by Step
- Click the Emoji Picker button in the formatting toolbar, next to the chat input.
- Pick a category tab, or type at least two letters in the Search emoji box.
- Point at an emoji to preview it in the bar at the bottom of the picker.
- Click the emoji. It is added where your cursor is.
- Press Enter to send the message as usual.
Search Tips
Search looks at each emoji's name and keywords, in English and in your chosen language. While a search is active, the results replace the category grid. Clear the box or pick a category tab to go back.
This Server's Emoji
If the server has its own emoji, they appear first, under the heading This server. Clicking one inserts its name between colons, for example :party:. The chat shows the picture when the message is displayed.
Reacting With an Emoji
The same picker opens when you choose React... in a message's context menu. In that case the emoji you pick is added as a reaction to the message, not to your input.
