Identity and presence cover how you appear to other users: your nickname, NickServ login state, profile bio, away status, and personal user modes.
Nickname Ownership
Use NickServ to register your current nickname and identify when you reconnect. Registration protects the name and lets identified users keep saved preferences. If you no longer want the nickname registered, the Account dialog can drop the registration after you confirm with its password. If an old session is still holding a registered nickname, use the advanced Ghost session action.
Changing Nicknames
The Account dialog profile tab can start a nickname change. Registered target nicknames still require the NickServ password in the confirmation flow.
Profile Bio
Your bio is a short profile line shown in whois output. Registered users keep it across sessions; guests keep it for the current session. The Account dialog shows the 200-character limit while you type.
Away Status
Set away when you are unavailable. The status-bar quick action can mark you away or back, and the Presence tab lets you set a custom message.
Personal User Modes
The current user mode is wallops (+w), which controls whether operator broadcast messages are delivered to your Status tab.
