When a channel is moderated, only owners, operators, half-operators and voiced users can send messages. Regular members can still read but not write.

Use it for talks, interviews, question sessions and announcements. A few people speak and everyone else listens. It is also a quick way to calm a channel during a flood or a heated argument.

Operators can also open Channel Central, go to the Modes tab, tick Moderated and choose Apply Modes.
