Privacy Settings

Control how your P2P connection works to protect your privacy.

Private Mode (TURN-Only)

When enabled, all P2P traffic is routed through the TURN server (relay), preventing the other user from seeing your real IP address.

How to Enable

In the starting room, open Route and privacy and turn the relay on before you press Ready. That is where the route is decided: once the session begins it is fixed for that session, so a connection that has already been negotiated is never quietly re-routed under you. The choice is remembered for your next session, and the Stats section shows whether the relay is carrying the one you are in.

Tradeoff

Private mode adds latency because traffic passes through the server. Direct connections (default) are faster but expose your IP to the peer.

Requirements

Private mode requires the TURN server to be configured. If it is not available, you will see a warning and the connection will be direct.

Anonymous Performance Monitoring

To keep the app fast and catch errors, your browser sends anonymous performance measurements (page load and responsiveness) and uncaught error reports to our own servers. No message content is collected, and the data is never shared with third parties.
