When you paste text containing multiple lines into the chat input, a confirmation dialog appears before sending.
Dialog Options
Send All
— Sends each line as a separate message.
Cancel
— Cancels the paste operation.
Flood Warning
Pasting more than 50 lines shows an additional flood warning. This prevents accidentally flooding a channel.
How to Use It
- Copy several lines of text from anywhere.
- Click the chat input and paste with your usual keyboard shortcut or menu.
- The Paste Confirmation dialog shows how many lines will be sent.
- Click Send All to send them, or Cancel to drop the paste and return to the input.
How It Works
- The dialog appears only when the pasted text has two or more lines with text. A single line is pasted into the input as usual.
- Empty lines are removed before sending.
- The lines go to the active channel or PM in their original order, with a short pause between them.
- Each line is sent as plain text. A line that starts with a slash is not run as a command.
Rules and Limits
- If you paste more than 100 lines, the Send All button is disabled. Split the text into smaller parts.
- When the input is in Markdown mode, a multi-line paste goes into the input without the dialog, so you can send it as one message.
- The Status window does not accept text. Pasted lines sent there are rejected.
