Request to be let into an invite-only (+i) channel. Channel operators see your knock and can choose to invite you in.
Syntax
/knock <#channel> [message]
Parameters
#channel
— The invite-only channel you want to join.message
— Optional message to include with your knock (e.g., who referred you).
How It Works
When you knock on a channel, all operators and owners in that channel receive a notification showing your nickname and optional message. They can then decide whether to invite you using /invite. Think of it as ringing the doorbell of a private room.
Rules & Limits
- The channel must be invite-only (+i)
- Cannot knock if you are banned from the channel
- Cannot knock if you are already a member
- Rate limited: once per 60 seconds per channel
- Disabled if the channel has +K (no knock) mode set
